Position overview
JSI’s World Education initiative’s SABES Program Support PD Center (PSPDC) project team seeks a Technical Officer to join its Boston-based team. SABES PSPDC is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (ACLS). Each year, the PSPDC delivers more than 200 professional development (PD) events, engaging over 2,500 educators and providing more than 5,000 hours of training to strengthen the adult education field in Massachusetts. The PSPDC team also manages the Massachusetts Adult Education Help Desk, which connects around 2,500 learners per year with adult education programs in their area.

The Technical Officer will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of these events by coordinating logistics, supporting participants and facilitators, and contributing to communications, planning, and reporting.

This full-time position reports to the PSPDC Director and is based out of our Boston, MA office with a hybrid work arrangement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to program design for the MA Adult Education Help Desk.
  • Ensure timely and accurate responses to requests for support by managing quality assurance, community outreach, reporting, and updates to the Help Desk website.
  • Ensure seamless execution of all professional development events by managing scheduling, registration, communication, and logistics.
  • Maximize participant and facilitator success by providing timely support for enrollment, course access, technical issues, and follow-up.
  • Contribute content and support the development of technical resources, articles, and blog posts.
  • Maintain accurate program data to inform decision-making and validate participant achievements.
  • Support the development of high-quality online courses and foster active learning communities.
  • Drive engagement and participation through strategic outreach and promotion.
  • Contribute to continuous program improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, experience, skills, and competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, International Development, or a related field is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in project coordination, communications, or instructional/program support.
  • Experience in adult education or publicly funded programs is strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Zoom; experience with WordPress, Canva, Adobe, Asana, or LACES is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and collaborative team player.

Language
  • Fluent oral and written English communication skills. Multilingual fluency (Spanish, Haitian Creole, or other languages) is an asset.

Work environment
  • Frequently operates a computer. Stands and walks during events.
  • Ability to maintain a comfortable and ergonomic posture while working or bending, sitting, kneeling, lifting, driving.
